It always makes me laugh when I go shopping looking like a hot mess because sometimes I catch the salespeople looking at me like, "Oooo girlllll! Hell no. You can't afford to shop here."
True story.
I was at the Jimmy Choo outlet the other day over at the Premium Mall in Halton Hills, and the salespeople were so snobby! They gave me the once over, turned their noses up in the air and turned their backs on me! I mean, I was at an outlet mall!
BAHHAHAHAAH. I can't!
Look here's the deal, we all deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. (Unless you're a morally corrupt monster of course but we're not gonna get into that.)
I believe in being kind and respectful. I'm no saint by any means and if someone disrespects me, you best bet I'm not gonna take their shit. But talking about the big picture here. The world is already so messed up, why spread negativity if you don't have to?
Here's the thing. I was bullied when I was younger, for almost a decade actually, and it was BAD. I had severe anxiety and a sleeping disorder and mainly, I was pissed at the world for being treated like garbage, even though I knew I was a good human being inside. I didn't understand why it was happening to me and I used to pray so hard every night for it to stop.
As a result, I used to be mean. I would lash out at my parents and at teachers and I would do whatever I needed to in order to build up this wall around me so I could never be hurt again.
Then I realized that A) that's not who I am at my core and B) negativity begets more negativity and I didn't want to be part of that so I stopped.
I guess my point is to treat people nicely, no matter what shoes they're wearing or how much their handbag costs because it's a superficial way of looking at the world. Don't you agree?
Speaking of shoes, Diana and I stopped by Footlocker the other day and bought matching Adidas Deerupt sneakers. They're ridiculously comfortable! We're obsessed! #notspon #notgifted #iwish
I'm back on YouTube + Mini Bathroom Tour & CHANEL makeup tutorial
Anyone who has been following along with my Instagram Stories knows that Geoff and I have been busy renovating our guest bathroom. This has been a total DIY job from start to finish - from hammering out the concrete to doing the plumbing and electrical. We're very lucky because both of our fathers have experience in this area and out helped a lot. Even the badass tiling work you see behind the vanity here was done by Geoff and I. We're just total DIYers over here at Casa WoahStyle! LOL.
We're about 90% done at this stage with only a single wall of built-in shelves that needs to be finished. Needless to say, we're happy to see it coming together and I can't wait to give you guys a proper bathroom tour when it's done.
For the bathroom design, I was inspired by my travels and visits to some of my favourite hotels - 21C in Cincinnati, Ludlow Hotel in NY and Litli Geysir Hotel in Iceland. I wanted clean lines and neutral colour palette to make guests feel more at home.
Actually, my real motive was to create a bathroom that was totally Instagrammable and beautiful to shoot blog content in. The reality is family only stays with us about once a year so it's actually my space now. Most importantly, we're adding value to our house by having an extra bathroom.
Anyway, I'm really happy with it so far. I find the space so inspiring that I dusted off the ol' ring light and decided to shoot my first video in what has been ages. Make sure you press play K?
Without giving away too much, the video features items from the CHANEL Les Beiges Collection, which launches May 1.
I'm totally smitten with all of the products here, but if I had to pick a must-have for spring/summer, it would be the LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW LUMINOUS MULTI-COLOUR POWDER.
Even if you decide to skip blush for the day, this powder does wonders for your complexion and instantly warms the face. Plus, how beautiful is the packaging? It comes with its own brush that's equally as chic. It is limited edition though so if you guys want to pick it up, be sure to get on it.

I find it interesting how there's this correlation between fashion and age that we're not entirely aware of when we're younger, but as we get older, we realize there's a stigma that indeed exists. Allow me to elaborate.
People are often surprised to hear my age (I'm 37 for those who don't know). I always get the same reaction, "You're in shape, your skin is amazing, and you don't dress like a 37-year-old!"
HOLD UP.
What is a 37-year-old supposed to dress like?
When was this rule created and how did I miss it?
Most importantly, why do we have to shed our skinny jeans and sneakers and swap it out for a business suit? Does 37 automatically make me uncool?!
I'm serious guys. This really bothers me.
I find myself wondering if I dress "too young" at times but I don't think that's it. I believe that as a society we expect people to dress, act, and talk a certain way as they age. It's an antiquated way of thinking and we really should just celebrate individuality, right?
So ya, do you. Because life's too short not to have fun and look damn good.
Changing the way you think of conditioner FOREVER feat. Pantene
Iβm all for making myself a human guinea pig if that means proving to you guys how awesome something is. In the four years Iβve been blogging, Iβve gone from having virgin hair, to dying it burgundy, to desperately trying to go back to my natural colour. Thatβs when I ended up with one of the worst bleach jobs ever.
I went into the salon with normal hair and left with what resembled straw in its place. My once shiny, healthy hair was transformed into this coarse mess that was sticking out straight like I had just put my finger into a light socket and been electrocuted. I was afraid to even brush my hair in fear of having it fall out. Oh, and the colour, you guessed it, also resembled straw. Yup. It was that bad.
It took a couple of years, regular trims and lots of conditioner, but Iβm happy to see my hair looking and feeling healthy again. Conditioner has been key to getting my hair back into shape, but what I really learned is that no matter what your hair type, conditioner is a must. Keep reading and youβll see exactly what I mean in this post.
Using my nightmare bleach job as inspiration, I couldnβt think of a better way to show you guys just how important my Pantene conditioner is in my regular haircare routine.

In this post Iβm gonna do a side by side comparison - one side using Pantene conditioner, and one side without. Iβm also going to let my hair air dry because as youβll see, my hair is naturally very frizzy. My thought here is that anyone can have beautiful hair with using heat tools, but how well a product works really shows when you let it air dry.
Okay, letβs get to it!
Choosing the Right Conditioner for Your Hair
When choosing a formula, think about your natural hair type. Is it frizzy, curly, straight, do you want more volume? From there, choose a collection to help you get that hair you want. Luckily Pantene has a dozen different types to choose from so anyone can find what they need. Choosing the right conditioner is super important because if you choose the wrong one β like one thatβs too rich for your hair type β you may feel like it weighs down and then you may give up on conditioner all together but donβt do that! Conditioner plays such an important role in overall hair health.
I was also interested to learn that Pantene makes their conditioners with Smart Technology (think of it like these micro-moisturizers) that target damaged areas of the hair. Any leftover moisturizers that arenβt needed are just rinsed away, so you donβt get any weigh down on the hair.
Iβll be using the Smooth & Sleek collection to minimize my frizz but maintain the natural wave in my hair. Iβm also a big fan of the Daily Moisture Renewal 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner because it keeps my hair hydrated, shiny and soft.
The Half and Half Test
I washed my hair as normal and parted it down the middle. I put up the half that would be conditioner-less, and then applied my Smooth & Sleek conditioner to the other half, from root to tip. Because Panteneβs Smart Technology targets damaged areas with micro-moisturizers but also prevents future damage, I always like to condition it all.
Feeling the Difference
After my shower I was really afraid to take down the half without conditioner and run a comb through it because; A) I donβt want to damage my hair, and B) brushing out all of those knots is gonna hurt!
My comb easily slid through my hair on the side where I used Smooth & Sleek. On the side without, I needed multiple passes to get out the knots and tangles out.
Since hair is most vulnerable and prone to breakage when itβs wet, this is just another way that Pantene conditioners helps prevent damage.
The Proof Is in The Pudding (err, conditioner in this case)
So itβs been a couple of hours now and Iβve let my hair air dry. Right away I can see the difference between the side with Smooth & Sleek conditioner and the side without. Brushing the side without the conditioner when dry sucked just as much as it did while it was wet. As you can see, the brush didnβt exactly run through it easily. Also, how out of control is my frizz?
Itβs actually pretty amazing see the difference both side of my hair and how my natural waves are brought out by just using my Pantene conditioner. That half looks and feels softer, and healthier. Itβs shiny and still has plenty of volume even when I conditioned from root to tip.
What I like best about Pantene, regardless of what collection I use, is how it washes away clean and doesnβt leave behind any residue or build up. Other brands Iβve tried in the past have been cumbersome to wash out or have left my hair totally weighed down.
EMBRACING MY NATURAL HAIR
Up until working on this post and doing the half/half experiment, Iβve forgotten how crazy my natural hair texture is. Growing up, I hated my hair so much that often put it up in a ponytail because I didnβt know how to deal with it. I actually had a permanent dent in my hair from where the elastic sat for years!
Now perhaps Iβm being too sentimental here, but how I feel about my hair now, versus then, is a world of difference. Whereas I used to hide my hair before, I truly love my hair now.
Since I know how to deal with it now, I can embrace my hair natural and still have it be manageable, soft and frizz-free courtesy my Pantene conditioner.

Well, I guess it didn't take long to see me in loungewear now, did it? LOL
This is Sunday's outfit. I'm actually posting everything two days behind to give me enough time to upload, write my daily blurbs, and link my clothing items. I have a lot going on and I really don't want to skip a day so I thought this method would work best in terms of scheduling.
Alright, so Sunday was chill. I woke up late, made a bowl of oatmeal with apricots & almonds, which actually sounds way better than it tastes. Most of the time I make a killer oatmeal but sometimes my heart's not in it and it tastes boring.
I digress.
I didn't intend on leaving the house all day, partly because I love being in comfortable clothes, but also because I really needed to just CHILL the eff out so I could feel healthy again.
We're leaving for Iceland in a week and there's a lot that we have to do before the trip, pack, get the house in order, make last minute plans to see my ND for more vitamin shots, etc. I'm also trying to schedule as much blog content ahead of time so that things WOAHSTYLE continues moving forward while I'm away. #hustlebaby
It's funny because Geoff asked what I was going to do with 365 Outfits while we're in Iceland. I just looked at him and said "I'm gonna blog them. Duh." I still think he's expecting me to stage things to a certain degree like we've done in the past but nope, we're keeping it real!!
Anyway, Hope you're all having a good week so far and if you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my newest Pantene post which just went live today! I had so much fun working on it and I'm so happy with how it came out! I truly hope you guys really enjoy it. (Fun fact: All of the shots you see in it are 100% self-portrait.)
