The Only Makeup You Need This Summer feat. DIOR Backstage
I love testing out new makeup because so many of them have big claims and gorgeous packaging, and yet, they simply don’t perform well. When I find a foundation or concealer that works, I feel compelled to tell everyone because finding good quality makeup is hard!
To give you an idea of what I deem to be good, it has to:
Look natural on the skin.
Apply seamlessly over the skin with both a makeup sponge and fingers - for those lazy days.
Have a diverse colour range.
Not settle into any fine lines or pores.
Be long-lasting.
Not fade or melt in the hot summer months on my combination skin.
Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation comes in 40 shades, has a natural finish that’s buildable coverage, and is water-proof / sweat-resistant. The coverage level on this foundation is medium and yet I find it looks natural on the skin, not cakey - especially when applied with a makeup sponge.
SHOP THE POST
I had a chance to test the water-proof and sweat-resistant claims at the gym and found that after a sweaty hour-long workout, my makeup was still intact. Even without setting powder!
When it comes to concealer I prefer a full-coverage liquid formula, and Dior nails it with their Backstage Concealer.
With 22 shades the Dior Backstage Concealer “is a caffeine-infused, radiant concealer that delivers waterproof and crease-proof full coverage.” Basically, everything I want in makeup.

Quick & Easy Sleek Low Bun Tutorial
Quick and Easy: Sleek low bun with a middle part.
I like to do this hairstyle on my wash days as it’s easier to sleek the hair back when it’s wet.
1️⃣ First I use a mix cream and hair oil on the ends. Oribe makes a good ones and it smells divine!
2️⃣ Then I spilt my hair into two sections. Using a small boar brush to sleek back the first part with Oribe gel to hold it in place.
3️⃣ Create a low pony and tie it back.
4️⃣ Brush back the rest of the hair with gel and tie back another pony over top of the first one.
5️⃣ To prevent fly aways, use a bit more cream and hair oil on the ends, twist the pony into a low bunch and secure it with an elastic band.
6️⃣ Finish with hairspray to hold everything in place.

I'll Be Wearing This On Repeat All Spring/Summer
It’s all about the three-piece suit for spring/summer and the Gelso suit from The Frankie Shop is everything. Slightly oversized but still flattering. Fits true to size. I paired the neutral suit with a minty coloured bag from Verafied. *gifted

These Are The 5 Trends You'll Want To Try This Spring/Summer
The world is finally starting to normalize after two years of lockdowns and I found myself looking at my calendar for the first time in a long time realizing that I don't have the right pieces to wear to events.
With a black-tie wedding to attend, a mini getaway with my husband, Easter, and my niece's birthday party, April is busy and my social calendar feels packed. I thought it would be a great time to pop into Nordstrom and see what's new.
Before heading out, I made a mental checklist of anything I needed for the season. A pet peeve of mine is buying an outfit for an event like a wedding only to never wear it again. This is why I'm keen on separates. Versatility.
Nordstrom has become a go-to destination for me anytime I need to pick up something special so I was excited to see what they had in store for spring.
Keep scrolling to see what spring trends I had a chance to try and how I styled them.
5 Spring Trends You’ll Want To Wear This Year
TREND 1 | PUFF SLEEVE
The puff sleeve is having a moment this season and let me just say - the bigger, the better. This trend is perfect for those who want a dramatic look and want to have fun with fashion. Wear this FRAME Puff Sleeve Crop Top with jeans or utility pants for an elevated daytime look. For evening, pair it with a maxi skirt and heeled sandals.
A feminine puff sleeve shirt looks great with these utility pants from FRAME.
TREND 2 | COLOUR
From soft pastel shades to bold and bright, colour is in for spring. Bright hues like these orange high-waisted pleated shorts from VINCE are sure to make a statement. Pair it with a striped knit cashmere sweater and high-top Converse like these special edition Rick Owens pair for a casual look.
For a dramatic effect, go full head to toe in a single colour to make a bold statement. Or, add just a single pop of colour and keep it minimal. Either way, have fun playing with colour!
TREND 3 | CUTOUTS
For those who like to show a little bit of skin, cutouts are a great trend to experiment with this spring. This mock-neck cutout top from Open Edit is flattering with a pair of Madewell jeans, and would also look fabulous with oversized black trousers and a pair of chunky loafers.
Add a jacket like this military inspired one by Free People if you want to ease into the cutout trend slowly.
TREND 4 | FLORALS
Florals are practically unanimous with spring and I love the idea of approaching florals in a new light. This quilted Veronica Beard jacket is reversible so you can get maximum wear from the same piece of clothing. The wooden buttons add an almost boho vibe while the cropped length makes it perfect to pair with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses. This is the kind of piece that can be dressed up for work or dressed down on the weekends.
Florals for spring are always a good idea.
TREND 5 | MONOCHROME
Monochrome is classic and effortless and I'm thrilled to see it on the spring runway for 2022. Prada, Chanel, and Dior all presented elegant monochrome looks in fun and interesting silhouettes. Have fun with proportions and pair a puff sleeve shirt like this one from FRAME, with cropped black pants and a pair of chunky boots. Mix lighter feminine fabrics with thick denim and leather to create dimension and texture. This will bring a simple look to life and make it feel chicer. For an evening look, swap the cropped pants for a maxi skirt and the boots for a heel. Simple, elegant, and fun.
All of the looks here are available at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Canada.

8 Legging Outfit Ideas - From Casual To Chic feat. Everlane
The influence of streetwear is undeniable and the evidence is all over the runway. From the late Virgil Abloh's beautiful creations at Louis Vuitton to Demna's Balenciaga and even Hedi's Celine with his Parisian rocker chic looks. It's clear that we're in an age where we crave high fashion but are unwilling to compromise on comfort.
Bally is the latest fashion house to soon get a makeover with their newly appointed creative director, Rhuigi Villaseñor, founder of LA-based Rhude.
Fashion and comfort.
As an 80's baby, I can honestly say I never assumed we'd get here.
Of course, there's more to it than just that and the magical formula comes together with personal style.
When I learned that ethically made brand, Everlane was launching The Perform 24/7 Legging & Stirrup Legging, I became obsessed with getting my hands on them.
Everlane is well known for its ethical and sustainable practices in manufacturing clothing, but they also have that cool "it" factor without being too flashy. In other words, the perfect clothes to create a capsule wardrobe.
I received my leggings in a recycled paper mailer containing recycled plastic bags containing the leggings. Everlane sent me the Stirrup Legging (a must-have for any fashion lover) and the regular-length Leggings (also available in ankle length).
Made from recycled nylon and elastane these high-waisted leggings are ridiculously comfortable and don't ride down. I repeat, they don't ride down!
I've been styling my Everlane leggings with my favourite Bottega Veneta tire boots, Reformation trench coat, and The Frankie Shop oversized blazer. These leggings go with absolutely everything in my closet and I've been getting loads of wear from them. Fashion and comfort truly unite.

I Found The Perfect Bag For This Holiday Season
We just planned our first family vacation in over two years, and I couldn't be more excited. Sometimes a ski holiday is just what one needs to break up the long winter months.
Since the holidays are just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to treat myself to a new weekender bag.
I opted for the MICHAEL Michael Kors Bedford Travel Extra-Large Weekender Bag in the neutral brown/acorn colorway as it goes well with my existing wardrobe and will also look fabulous with an all-black outfit.
The MMK Bedford Weekender is great for weekend getaways like the short overnight trips to visit my in-laws. They're about three hours up north and since we visit often, I know that I'll get plenty of use from it.
If you're also planning on upgrading your travel bag, or any bag for that matter, then make sure to check out Michael Kors's latest collection. From the classic structured Karlie bag, to the statement-making Hamilton bag, there's something for everyone this holiday season.

SSENSE Fall Sale - What To Buy
We all love a good sale, especially when it's from my personal favourite retailer - SSENSE.
In this post I've gathered up some items that I think will go fast. Hint - this suit from The Frankie Shop is on my list and it's nearly sold out! (BTW - the Bea boxy blazer and Bea trouser are sold as separates. I sized up in the pant and got a medium.)
What will you be buying at the sale?
Nathalie
SHOP NEW BALANCE SNEAKERS
Ssense just restocked New Balance sneakers and they have an amazing selection online. My top pick is the New Balance BB480, a dupe for the highly sought-after New Balance 550. Do you see the resemblance?
I’M WEARING:
Blazer, The Frankie Shop Bea boxy blazer.
Pants, The Frankie Shop Bea trouser.
Sweater, The Frankie Shop Vanessa Padded Shoulder Sweatshirt.
Necklaces, Julia Vaughn and David Yurman.
Sneakers, Coverse High Tops in white.
Sunglasses, Tom Ford.
Baseball cap, Lululemon Baller hat.
Tote, Celine clear plastic tote bag.
Pouch, Louis Vuitton Monogram Toiletry 19 pouch.
THE FRANKIE SHOP
Popular New York label, The Frankie Shop, has been on my radar for some time now. Lucky for us Canadians, SSENSE has stocked some of their iconic pieces like suits, padded shoulder tank tops, and sweatshirts. I've noticed their stuff is selling fast so act quickly if you have something from TFS on your wish list.

SHOP EVERYTHING ELSE
If you haven't already checked out the EVERYTHING ELSE page on SSENSE, then you don't know what you're missing. Some of my top picks are Telka bathrobes and towels. The Copenhagen-based brand is made from 100% organic cotton and just gets softer with each wash.
PhoneSoap makes a device sanitizer which has become a must-have for me during the pandemic. I keep mine in the front hallway of my house to make sure that I sanitize my iPhone as soon as I get home.
I also swear by the Fellow kettle. The design is chic enough that you want to leave it on display, but it's also proven to be the best kettle I've ever bought. The spout is narrow, allowing for control when pouring water over your morning coffee. You can brew the perfect cup of tea or coffee as Fellow has a temperate range of 135-212 °F / 57-100 °C. And finally, it has a 60 min temperature hold time and a stopwatch feature, making it a must-have for coffee and tea lovers.

How To Elevate Casual Clothing (and look more expensive)
Well, I never saw this one coming but, suddenly I'm finding that I'm obsessed with leggings. Every outfit I put on, I want to wear with leggings.
I wish that I was kidding.
Either way, there are ways to dress them up so that you don't look like you've just stepped out of the gym.
My trick when elevating any casual piece is to add a dressed-up element that has more structure. In this case, the wool coat automatically brings the legging/ sweater combo up a notch.
The trick of casual/ dressed-up balance works for pretty much anything in your wardrobe, be it leggings, sweat pants, sneakers, etc. Just consider how you'll elevate the casual with something more sophisticated and viola.
