LIFESTYLE | A Porsche Lover's Quick Spin in the New Taycan 4S
As a self-proclaimed Porsche enthusiast, few things excite me more than the opportunity to experience a new model. Recently, I had the incredible fortune to test drive the 2025 Porsche Taycan 4S in the stunning new colour, Provence. While I normally prefer to get to know a car a little better with a week-long test drive, my short 3-hour "taste drive" left me wanting more.
My first impression of the Taycan 4S was that it felt smaller and sportier than other Taycans I've driven. (Perhaps my fondest memories are with the Taycan Sport & Cross Turismo, which I've taken on short road trips with my husband and parents to the Niagara region.) This new model boasts some impressive specs: 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds flat, a top track speed of 250 km/h, and a range of up to 488 km thanks to its Performance Battery Plus (with a 93.4 kWh gross capacity). And as anyone who's driven an electric vehicle knows, they are FAST. Car and Driver estimates this Taycan 4S will hit 60 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds!
Of course, exhilarating performance is exactly what I expect from a Porsche. The Taycan 4S delivered, proving to be responsive and safe, with fantastic handling around curves and impressive acceleration on the straightaways (all while obeying the speed limits, naturally!).
One of the best parts of driving a Porsche is the attention it attracts. This particular model, decked out with Porsche Scopes decals to promote the upcoming event, turned heads wherever we went. People were captivated by the soft grey-lavender Provence colour and the car's overall attractiveness. At one point, someone even started taking photos of the back of the car while we were stopped at a red light! My husband and I couldn't help but give him a peace sign for his photo.
The interior was truly something special. This Taycan 4S was configured with a Bramble and Chalk leather interior – from the seats to the dash and even a Bramble leather steering wheel. It not only looks incredible in photos but is even more showstopping in person.
Although I'm craving more time behind the wheel of this car, I can confidently say the Taycan 4S is worth checking out, especially if you're considering an electric vehicle.
